A cherished member of the Eastern family, Dale McDaris – Anderson Branch Manager, is facing the battle of his life. Dale was recently diagnosed with brain cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Dale and his wife Whitney have a son Grayson (4) and a daughter Tinsley (2). Whitney is presently unable to work in order to help Dale with his recovery.

Eastern Cares, AGA of the Carolinas, and Eastern teamed together to host a “Keeping the Faith for Dale” golf tournament and fund raiser out at Holly Tree Country Club on Tuesday August 18th. Originally, scheduling allowed for lunch and then a shotgun start at 1:00pm; however, the response was so overwhelming that we had alter our schedule and allow for teams in the morning as well. Twelve teams competed in the morning and thirty-five teams competed in the afternoon. At approximately 6:30 that evening all were able to reconvene and enjoy a BBQ dinner and silent auction. Dale and Whitney attended lunch and when they came back for the dinner they were able to bring Grayson and Tinsley. August 18th was a big day for Dale as the outpouring of love and support was amazing. The incredible response reiterated the fact that Dale is an extraordinary man who is loved and respected by many. The entire event raised $40,321. What a blessing to be able to raise that amount of money in one day to help Dale and Whitney on their journey.
