Each month the Greenville Branch has been supporting a different organization in the community.  We asked associates in Branch 1 – Greenville, SC to give us ideas about what charity they would like to help out, and then picked a different charity for each month.  We wanted everyone to be involved and that was a great way to kick off the BR1 Eastern Cares initiative.

So far this year, Branch 1 has supported Salvation Army, Hospice, and The Clothes Closet. We have come up with several ways to raise money or items for each month.  Each Friday we allow associates to wear blue jeans in exchange for a donation.  This donation can be $2 or items such as clothing help satisfy the charity’s specific needs.  Greenville Associates also have a branch lunch once a month, and all the proceeds collected go to the monthly charity.

It is great how each Associate has supported these charities.  We were so excited about the clothes and school supplies we received for the Salvation Army.  It was nice to be able to give so many items to people in need.  Some other charities that we plan to help in the upcoming months are The Boy’s Home of the South and Shriner’s Hospital. This has been a great way to bring our Branch together, and we look forward to helping others in need.
