Hungarian Visitor

Two Hungarians, Zsolt Kovacs (right)and Attila Toth, met recently at the Greenville Branch. Zsolt has been an Eastern Associatefor seven years. Attila Toth is a pastor working with Hungarian ethnics and Roma (Gypsy) people in the Mures District of Romania (Transylvania near the Carpathian Mountains).

Teleios Golf Tournament

November 15, 2010 

This fall Eastern participated in the Teleios Ministry Golf Tournament.  The proceeds from the tournament went to provide children’s winter clothes in Romania, educational opportunity in Kenya, and orphan care through Daily Bread Life Children’s Home in Tanzania.

Tomorrow, November 13th, at Furman University, I will be taking part in Rachael’s Run along side my good friend Josh Worley and his entire family on team “Steadfast and Strong.” Rachael’s Run is very special to the Worley’s because Angie Gleason is not only Rachael’s mother but also Josh’s favorite chemo nurse.

Christmas on Miracle Hill

It’s hard to believe the Christmas season is upon us again. We have all seen the headlines about our failing economy and lost jobs. These times hit families who are already living on the edge of poverty, especially hard. At Miracle Hill Children’s Home, there has been a steady increase in the need for both temporary shelter and permanent placement for a number of children who are innocent victims of these troublesome times.

Dine Out For Mom

Let There Be Mom (LTBM) is a non-profit organization that works with parents, both moms and dads suffering with a life threatening illness, who have children 18 years old or younger.  The mission of LTBM is to preserve the memory of the parent for the children.  They create all sorts of keepsake memories such as cookbooks, scrapbooks, and videos.

Seeing the Son in Our Face

This past week has brought many blessings into my life in the form of people. I love to meet people and instantly see the Lord in their faces. I met a dear lady that has touched my life in this way a few weeks ago. Her job is attending to a very sick lady that is now in Hospice. She talks unashamedly about the things of the Lord and even led this patient to Him. What a blessing to see someone so consumed with the things of the Lord!
