Charlotte Grand Opening – May 7, 2010

Located at 2019 North Tryon Street in Charlotte, NC, Eastern Industrial Supplies, Inc. officially opened its new location on May 6, 2010.  The Grand Opening event featured a catered barbeque lunch and product demonstrations by Anvil International, Apollo Valves, Bradford White, Lenox, TOTO USA, and Tyler Pipe.  There were over seventy-five people in attendance at this event.  The Charlotte location stocks a full-line inventory of pipe, valves, fittings, and plumbing supplies.  Celebrating 30 years of experience, Eastern’s Charlotte Associates are ready to serve the Commercial Plumbing, Mechanical, and Industrial markets with a substantial depth in inventory.  Branch manager, Shelby Jones, comments “Our new location increases our ability to exceed our customers’ expectations.  Please stop by our counter and let us show you our vast product selections.  We look forward to showing you why we are ‘The Company You Can Trust.’”

The Blood Connection

Today the Blood Vessel was parked in Greenville’s pipe yard for its quarterly visit. This month a challenge was brought to the table between Eastern’s Corporate and Greenville locations – Who could have the most participation? The idea sparked an interest with a total of 25 donors and 3 first time donors.

Hating Warts

When I was a child I remember having warts all over my hands. The doctor said it was a virus that spread over my hands. One day I counted them and to my displeasure I had twenty-eight warts. This is not a pretty picture, especially for a girl! I don’t remember how long it took me to get all of those but they went away rather suddenly.

Church in India Update

Here in the South church steeples are commonplace.  In fact, churches are even built next door to one another.  It is hard to imagine for most Americans not only having to travel a great distance just to go to church, but also doing so amidst an often hostile environment.  Yet, that was the case for more than 100 Christian families of Subramanya Nagar in Puttur village, Udupi Taluk in South India until Rajesh Salins of Bell-O-Seal Valve, one of Eastern’s business contacts, was inspired by God to construct a church in order to benefit all Christians in the area.  Eastern partnered with Bell-O-Seal to “help shine the light of hope for Christians and others in this area,” said Kip Miller, CEO and President of Eastern.

New Dormitory

The campus of the Daily Bread Life Children’s Home in Iringa, Tanzania, has a new building, the Secondary School-Age Dorm. The children are very excited, and as you are reading  this newsletter, four of the children who will be attending Secondary School this year will have moved into this new dorm.
