Because We Care – Todd Michalak

October 14, 2010

Because we (the Associates) care, Eastern cares.  This attitude is simple but permeates the culture here at Eastern.  Each month, different Associates are recognized for their efforts that go above and beyond our already high standards.  Associates are nominated by fellow coworkers and can be recognized for any of our core values.

Seeing the Son in Our Face

October 12, 2010

This past week has brought many blessings into my life in the form of people. I love to meet people and instantly see the Lord in their faces. I met a dear lady that has touched my life in this way a few weeks ago. Her job is attending to a very sick lady that is now in Hospice. Our work ranged from painting, laying flooring, and patching holes in walls to adding/completing additions including roofing, insulation, sheetrock, electrical, and siding.

Back to School

August 31, 2010

It is that time of year for Back to School shopping! This time of year was always my favorite, second only to Christmas. I love new school supplies and all the options that came with picking my new backpack, lunch box, trapper keeper, and pencil collection. Sadly, for many kids this time of year can be painful and embarrassing. Some kids may not be able to afford school supplies at all. I imagine the first day of school would be hard and scary knowing you don’t possess the tools to succeed in the classroom.

Tenderheartedness that Heals

August 5, 2010

Grandchildren are precious gifts from God. They have the special ability to wipe away the pain that can take residence in one’s heart and replace it with joy. My grandchildren can easily brighten my day with their unconditional love and silly antics.
